Here's a final thought that maybe you haven't discussed yet: Each person in a marriage is more important than the marriage. Just as Jesus said, "The Sabbath was made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath" (Mark 2:27), similarly marriage was made for humans, not humans for marriage.
